PREPARE

Before
your session.

A few simple things to do in the days leading up to your appointment so we can focus on the work.

01 REST WELL

Sleep well the night before and come relaxed. Your body will handle the session and healing better.

02 EAT + HYDRATE

Have a good meal and drink plenty of water before your appointment. Feel free to bring snacks for longer sessions.

03 PREPARE YOUR SKIN

Moisturize the area daily for a week beforehand and avoid sunburn, tanning, peelings, or damaged skin

04 AVOID ALCOHOL + DRUGS

Please avoid alcohol or drugs at least 48 hours before your appointment, as they can affect bleeding and healing.

05 WEAR COMFY CLOTHING

Choose comfy clothing with easy access to the tattoo placement. Avoid very light colours in case of possible ink stains.

06 BRINGING A PLUS 1

Due to limited space, I kindly ask you to come alone if possible. If you feel nervous, you are of course welcome to bring one person with you.

07 LONG SESSION?

Headphones, a book, or your phone can help during longer appointments.

08 MEDICAL NOTICE

Unfortunately, I cannot tattoo you if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, on antibiotics or blood thinners, or if the area has eczema, open skin, bruises, problematic scars, or moles. If unsure, feel free to contact me beforehand.

AFTERCARE

How to keep
your lines sharp.

Fineline tattoos require a little extra love during healing. Follow these steps and your piece will age beautifully

01 REMOVING THE SECOND SKIN

Leave your second skin on for 24 hours. t’s normal for fluid/plasma/ink to build up underneath the bandage. Remove carefully in the shower in the direction of hair growth. Wash your tattoo immediately after removal

02 CLEANING YOUR TATTOO

Use luke-warm water + fragrance free soap. Gently clean away any residue and pat dry with a clean towel. Apply a thin layer of the recommended ointment to the tattoo area.

03 HEALING: DAY ONE - FIVE

Wash your tattoo twice a day. Apply a thin layer of fragrance free lotion or recommended aftercare after each wash. Avoid over-moisturising (this is key for fine line tattoos). Wear loose, soft clothing over the area. It is normal for the area to become itchy and flaky.

04 HEALING: DAY FIVE - FOURTEEN

You can expect light flaking and peeling. DO NOT pick or scratch. Continue light moisturising daily. Avoid direct sun exposure, swimming (ocean, pools, spas), Fake tan on the area/ any product that isn’t your fragrance free lotion, exfoliating and excessive sweating/friction on the area.

05 WHEN TO REACH OUT

Some redness and peeling is normal, but if you notice excessive swelling, pus or unusual discharge, on-going irritation, please contact me or a medical professional

06 LONG TERM TATTOO CARE:

Due to limited space, I kindly ask you to come alone if possible. If you feel nervous, you are of course welcome to bring one person with you.

07 TOUCH UPS

Fineline tattoos are delicate and will soften as they heal. A touch up may be needed once healed, this is part of the process and not a flaw. A touch up may be needed if - Some lines have healed noticeably lighter than others (however this could be intentional depending on the design), small sections of the tattoo look faded or patchy, fine details have dropped out during healing or one part of the design looks uneven compared to the rest.
What is normal (no touch up required) - Slight softening of very fine lines, a more settled or less crisp appearance once healed, changes in tone as the skin regenerates. Fineline tattoos are designed to heal soft and delicate, NOT bold and heavy. Before reaching out for a touch up wait at least 6 weeks for full healing. The appearance of your tattoo can change a lot between weeks 1-6 so give your tattoo a chance to settle before judging the healed outcome

08 THINGS TO NOTE:

Some placements (hands, fingers, feet, wrist etc) are much more prone to needing touch ups, especially with fine line work. When booking a touch up please send a clear photo of your healed tattoo in natural lighting. This allows me to assess and guide you properly
